How do People Change?
People change when they get at the roots of their emotional distress and personal suffering. In my experience, the most meaningful therapeutic shifts don’t emerge from the most elegant insights, but from moments when something between us breaks—then is explored and reconstituted in a new form. These are the moments where relational struggles intensify. When this process is witnessed, survived, and thought about together, patients often begin to experience themselves and their inner worlds differently. These moments—marked by rupture, repair, and surprising clarity—form the heart of psychotherapeutic action, not as insight delivered but as understanding lived.
About My Practice
Building a collaborative relationship in therapy is the single most important factor in therapeutic success. This relationship will be the keystone for facilitating your personal growth and understanding of yourself not just intellectually, but also emotionally. Over time, an internalized healing space forms where you can recover access to parts of your true self. Speaking freely without unnecessary self-censorship may be simple, but it’s not easy. I encourage you to try.
